A little about Ms. Zacharko!
I am originally from NY where I received my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Humanities from SUNY Alfred. I then went on to get my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Elementary Education from St. John Fisher College. After graduation I began teaching with the Webster Central School District where I taught 5th and 6th grades. In 2006 I moved to Florida and began teaching at Woodward Avenue Elementary. I have taught 4th and 5th grades, the all-boys class, all-girls class, and the mixed class. I have had the opportunity to present at various international, national, and regional conferences on a variety of topics. I have also had the honor of being Woodward's Teacher of the Year.
I love to read and published my first children's book a few years ago. The title of my book is "No More Miss Little Mama Drama".
I have four children; I must say there is never a dull moment in our house. My oldest son, Zackary, served in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman and now lives in California. My younger three children and I live in Edgewater. Connor is in 10th grade, Caitlyn is in 8th grade, and Kyle is in 6th grade.
When I am not teaching or working on my books, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy photography, paddleboarding, kayaking and cooking.
This is my twentieth year teaching and 14th year with Volusia County Schools. I am so excited to be a part of the Read-Pattillo family and that your child is a part of my class. I look forward to all the fun experiences each school year brings, but most importantly, I look forward to helping your child succeed!
